July 4th marked a once-in-a-generation milestone, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Alongside statewide and community partners, Utah cities and counties planned an array of local events, shared experiences, and reflections to encourage all Utahns to connect with this extraordinary anniversary in meaningful ways.
Programming throughout Utah was made possible with the generosity of America250 Utah’s founding sponsors:
Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, Zions Bank, & Intermountain Health.

Statewide Flyover to Connect Utah Communities
July 4
The U.S. Air Force Reserve's 419th Fighter Wing and the Utah Air National Guard's 151st Wing conducted a statewide flyover to commemorate the nation's 250th anniversary. Between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on July 4, Utahns across the state witnessed a powerful display of American airpower. An unprecedented number of Utah communities submitted flyover requests, and the flight route was designed to safely and efficiently reach as many requested locations as possible within the three-hour window.

Great American Fair
A Utah pavilion was part of the transformation of the National Mall into a bold, state fair-themed celebration of America's 250th anniversary. Through a series of interactive vignettes, the exhibit asked, "Are you a Utah person?" Visitors placed themselves within Utah's iconic landscapes and shared photos for an opportunity to win a trip to the state. Utah's exhibit was recognized with the event's "Best in Show" award, honoring it among the top state pavilions. The Utah pavilion was funded by the Utah State Legislature and staffed by employees of the Utah Department of Cultural & Community Engagement and dozens of volunteers.
